CCFA was founded in 2005[2] and obtained charitable status in February of 2023.[3]

Campaigns

Barn Fires

CCFA petitioned for a change to the National Farm Building Code as to include protection of animals from fire.[5] Vicki Fecteau also spoke on The Sunday Edition about the Coalitions efforts to raise awareness about barn fires and their effects on the lives of farm animals.[6] CCFA is working with the Canadian government to try to increase fire detection system use in barns.[6]

CCFA launched the website https://www.preventingbarnfires.com[7]

Animal Transportation

CCFA organized protests[8] and campaigned for shorter transportation times for animals being taken to slaughter. They petitioned for amended transport regulations for farm animals.[9] They released inspection reports from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to the media.[10][11][12]

Video Surveillance in Slaughterhouses

The Canadian Coalition for Farm Animals petitioned the Canadian government to commit to a plan of implementing video surveillance in slaughter facilities.[13]

Foie Gras

CCFA petitioned[14] and campaigned against foie gras and force-feeding of animals in Canada.[15]

Farmed Chickens

The Canadian Coalition for Farm Animals created the website https://helpthechickens.ca/ to raise awareness of the condition farmed chickens live in.[16]
