This degree prepares students for a wide range of careers in medical research, healthcare, and biomedical industries. The curriculum typically includes courses in human anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, immunology, microbiology, and biomedical ethics. Usually it is awarded with its full form as Bachelor of Biomedical Science (BBioMedSc) in order to differentiate from other biosciences degree. Second most common naming is with BSc Biomedical Science. Small number of institutions offer it as Bachelor of Health Sciences (Biomedical Science).

Bachelor of Biomedical Science is usually awarded as an honour degree indicated by "Hons" after the degree abbreviation. Some institutions might offer biomed programme under faculty of medicine, faculty of health sciences or faculty of science. This programme is a highly attractive to students in a strong, in-depth preparation in the biomedicine. Usually 50 students are enrolled every year for a one university. [1]
