Animation+ is a streaming platform developed by Streaming Ink Media. Animation+ was initially released in the United States and Canada for the Samsung TV Plus in June 2024, with a full release planned for 2025. Its library consists of animated comedy projects by online content creators.

History

Animation+ is developed by Streaming Ink Media, cofounded in 2022 by Evan Weiss and John Fitzpatrick. Both previously worked on web comedy projects.[1][2] On June 12, 2024, the service received its initial launch in the United States and Canada as a free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channel on Samsung TV Plus.[1][3] The company plans to release international versions for other platforms and a beta app later in 2024.[2] The full rollout, including a premium model, is set for 2025.[1][3]

Content

The service primarily focuses on adult comedy animation.[1][2] Creative partners who produced the library's content are animators who have mostly self-published videos on YouTube.[3] They include Explosm Entertainment of The Cyanide & Happiness Show, David Firth of Salad Fingers, Ross Bollinger of Pencilmation, and Jarrad Wright of The Big Lez Show.[2][3]

As of its original June 2024 launch, Animation+ contains animated content that was previously published. Development of original series, feature-length movies and video games for 2025 is ongoing.[1]
