+Life is a multi-platform brand inspired by Emmy Award-winning ABC talent Karl Schmid’s own story of living with shame and fear of having HIV due to the amount of ignorance and stigma surrounding the virus.[1] +Life appears across multiple social media platforms offering the flagship +Talk round-table talk show and content revolving around love and relationships, entertaining, medicine, nutrition, and spirituality. +Life features a coterie of amazing stories told by an incredible and diverse group of people sharing their first-hand experiences living with HIV, fighting for access to medications, facing down community stigma, and fighting their own internal stigmas.[2]
History
+Life Media was co-founded in 2019 by Karl Schmid and AOMedia.[3]
Programming
+Talk
+Life’s flagship weekly talk show hosted by Karl Schmid. Australian-born television host and producer Karl Schmid has been busy on American, Canadian, and British televisions for the last ten years, including as a host and entertainment correspondent for ABC7/KABC-TV Los Angeles. As perhaps the only openly HIV-positive broadcast journalist on U.S. television, Schmid has used his platform to be a passionate advocate in the fight against HIV stigma.[4]
Truth Be Told
Hosted by Emmy and GLAAD award-winning journalist Tony Morrison, "Truth Be Told" invites guests to share their stories and what motivated them to start living life fully in their truth. Tony wants to inspire others to do the same by sharing stories from those who have overcome the impossible and who, as a result, are living in their fullness today.[5]
