Courtney Brown (née Talbot; born November 25, 2000) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for the Washington Spirit of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). She played college soccer for the Utah Utes before being selected by the Spirit in the 2024 NWSL Draft.

Early life

Brown was raised in West Haven, Utah, one of four children born to Brett and Meechelle Talbot.[1] In her youth, she attended soccer camps at Brigham Young University taught in part by her future Spirit teammate Ashley Hatch.[2] She attended Fremont High School, where she lettered in soccer, basketball, and track.[1] She made it to the state championship match as a sophomore in 2016, scoring a game-tying goal before losing 2–1.[3][4]

College career

Brown played for the Utah Utes from to 2019 to 2023.[1][5] She captained the team during her last three seasons.[6]

Club career

Brown was drafted by the Washington Spirit with the 49th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2024 NWSL Draft.[6] She was signed to three-year contract.[2] She scored her first professional goal to help defeat NJ/NY Gotham FC 2–0 on June 23.[7]
