Chimp Crazy is an upcoming American animal rights documentary series directed and produced by Eric Goode. It follows Tonia Haddix, an animal broker, who takes care of a chimpanzee, Tonka, which spins into a game with authorities and animal rights groups.

It is scheduled to premiere on August 18, 2024, on HBO.

Premise

Tonia Haddix, an animal broker, spends her days taking care of a chimpanzee, Tonka. Her love for Tonka, spins into a game with authorities and animal rights groups. The series additionally explores other owners of chimps and their experiences.[1][2]

Production

In March 2022, it was announced Eric Goode was in production on a documentary revolving around Tonia Haddix.[3][4]
