"The Night they Drove Old Dixie Down"
This song sticks out like a sore thumb on this list -- every other song appears to be contemporaneous, that is a true song of (as opposed to about or referencing) the Civil War. However, it does appear to meet the criteria described at the top of the list. What do we want to do here? I can think of three options:
- Take it off, do not add this or similar songs in the future, clarify the description to limit the list to contemporaneous songs
- Leave it there and start adding other later songs about or referencing the war
- Split the list into sub-categories with seperate sections for "contemporaneous songs associated with the war" and "later songs about or referencing the war"

The Vacant Chair
I looked for this song tonight, and I don't see any sign that it ever even had an article. I can't believe that, so I'm clearly missing something. Can somebody fill me in before I try to create an article? Thanks! -- BPMullins | Talk 04:18, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
