Category talk:American female film actors

Rationale

I added this category redirect, because there is a Category:American male film actors, and there was no "female" parallel category. Instead, there is Category:American film actresses, a psychologically distant, and linguistically quaint holdover from generations gone by. According to a recent blog post, which I hcannot re-find, the category Category:American film actors (no gender) was drained of all males, against the wishes of a vocal number of Wikipedia editors.

• Both male and female actors share the word "actor" now, with no stigma or gender differentiation needed.

So until the "actresses" category is renamed, or the editor responsible for the forced asymmetrical catagory segregation is blocked/banned or just leaves, this placeholder will have to suffice. --Lexein (talk) 12:33, 24 August 2013 (UTC)
