Expressways in Croatia or brze ceste are limited-access roads with a speed limit of 110 kilometers per hour (68 mph) and at least two lanes in each direction (no hard shoulder). They are a cheaper and a slower alternative to autoceste (motorways), usually short and used on stretches where traffic doesn't yet warrant a full-scale highway.
