This is a tracking category. It is used to build and maintain lists of pages—primarily for the sake of the lists themselves and their use in article and category maintenance. This is a tracking category for Bare URL references to image files (e.g. <ref>http://example.com/foo.jpg</ref>) which have been tagged with {{Bare URL image}} (e.g. <ref>http://example.com/foo.jpg {{Bare URL image|date=April 2024}}</ref>)

These bare URL refs are tracked separately because tools such as Citation bot, Reflinks and reFill cannot extract metadata from image files, so the metadata such as title, author and publication date needs to be added manually.
