Batifa (Arabic: باطوفا,[2] Kurdish: باتيفا, romanized: Batîfa)[3] is a district in Duhok Governorate in Kurdistan Region, Iraq. It is located in the Zakho District.
Batifa is an increasingly popular tourist hotspot due to its proximity to the Said Xazar water park and the iconic Zembilfroş hotel, named after the protagonist of the famous Zembîlfroş poem.
Batifa is mainly populated by the Guli Kurdish tribe who speak a bahdini dialect of kurmanji Kurdish and have their roots in near by villages such as Bahnuna and Demka.

Climate
Batifa has a hot-summer Mediterranean climate (Csa) with hot dry summers and cool, wet winters. Subfreezing lows are common in the winter, providing some frost. Snowfall may occur occasionally.
