The 2024 Woking Borough Council election was held on 2 May 2024 to elect members of Woking Borough Council. There were 11 of the 30 seats of the council up for election, being the usual third of the council plus a by-election in Hoe Valley ward. The election took place at the same time as other local elections across England.[2]
Previous council composition
The Liberal Democrats have controlled the majority of seats on the council since 2022, winning even more seats in the previous election to strengthen their hold. The Conservatives have continued to lose seats in every Woking Borough election since 2016, whereas the Labour Party has remained relatively stable at a handful of seats. Outside of independent councillors, no other party has a seat on the council, with no other party ever having won one since 1974.
