Per your remark on the Octapharma article talk page - the company site is NOT in the public domain. It is copyright to the company. It is accessible for reading by the public, but that does not mean it is public domain. PD is text or images that are copyright expired through age, or by being created by certain (usually US) government departments. Other things may be declared to be public domaion by their creator, or licensed under Creative Commons for free use. Your company site specifically has a copyright notice on it. I have not found any copying, but I only looked quickly. The text you used was promotional in our terms, as would be expected on a company site, so I would not be surprised to learn that it was copied. @Xeno:As I had no way of knowing a request had been made, I did what I usually do when a username represents an organisation. It is uncommon in my experience for a request to be made without a block first. I used a softerblock instead of the spamuserblock as the promotional nature of their post wasn't as bad as most. @Peridon: You should be reviewing the user's contributions prior to blocking them, as a block is not always indicated for usernames; per Wikipedia:Username policy#Promotional names: "Users who adopt such usernames, but who are not editing problematically in related articles, should not be blocked. Instead, they should be gently encouraged to change their username." While you are checking their user contributions to ensure they are editing problematically in related articles, you should be able to determine if they have edited the Wikipedia:Changing username pages. –xeno^talk 19:28, 15 April 2014 (UTC)
