I'm sorry if I don't follow the correct channels to do so, I only edit Wikipedia for our Institute (I'm the press officer).

Please note that per the Username policy usernames cannot be that of an organization or position; they must identify you as an individual user. You don't have to use your real name if you don't want to, but your username must indicate that you and only you personally are using it. If you want to indicate MPI in your name, you can format it as described above, such as "Jeanine at MPI".

You will also need to review the conflict of interest policy, as you should generally not directly edit in areas where you have a COI, instead first suggesting edits on the article talk page. Dear 331dot, I'm not so quite sure how to rename then. On one hand, I am the press officer and I merely want the information on our institute and directors to be correct and relatively up to date. For this reason, I THOUGHT that putting the name of our institute (MPI would not be enough, since there are 80 Max Planck Institutes) would add credibility. However, Maybe I can just have my real private name? If anyone want to google me, I can be found quickly... So, just being a private person is fine, or? If so: with first and last name? Do you accept ü as well? Thanks!

All that really matters is that your name identify you as an individual and not a position. If you want to just use your name or a personal nickname, that's fine. If you want to have it in the suggested format of "Jeanine at MPI" or "MPIPressOfficer Jeanine", that's fine too.

Having the name of your institute in your username might not be a bad idea, as it will help indicate to others your association with the institute. The more open you are about your conflict of interest and possible paid association, the much better things will be for you in your editing.

I would again stress that you will need to review conflict of interest and the paid editing policies. Those don't mean that any changes you want will not be allowed, but there are certain steps that must be taken to ensure as neutral a point of view as possible.
