Add links to the status of the legislation
It might not be the case that people understand what 'recast' and 'repealed' means in the case of EU legislation, should we make these status indicators links to relevant Wikipedia articles? --Martsniez (talk) 09:08, 3 June 2015 (UTC)

Eur-Lex reference
I suggest that an Eur-lex reference is added and recommended. The link to OJ is far less useful than a link to the normal Eur-Lex page. The latter gives the user easy access both to the different national versions of the legislation, as well as links to implementing acts, judgements etc. Compare e.g. http://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=celex%3A31994R3295 (OJ, without context) to http://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/reg/1994/3295/oj (with context). In my experience, editors typically add OJ links without any context, when using this template. I guess it is easiest to add, rather than to replace, the Eur-LEX reference. (Another possible addition would be to the European Parliament's page for this legal instrument, but that is accessible from eur-lex, see e.g. http://www.europarl.europa.eu/oeil/popups/ficheprocedure.do?lang=en&reference=1993/1024(CNS) ) Burlefot (talk) 19:00, 14 March 2017 (UTC)
