Editing

Hi, myself along with a partner will be editing this page for a school project. We are expanding on the amount of information provided and focusing on the importance of breastmilk. Thanks Amberzentner (talk) 03:01, 13 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Adding in information

I have added some important information that was left out of this article. I added in the Formula subheading and the information regarding using formula. This article lacks information about forumla. I also added in the feeding schedule for Newborn - 6 months and included the information about how much a liquid the baby needs at each stage of life. I also added in the Starting solid's subheading with the information about the baby needing iron at 6 months of age. The article is still missing some formatting such as creating subheadings for the information included for birth - 6 months and 6 - 12 months. The benefit's of breastmilk should be included in the breastmilk article in wikipedia and not in this article.Henrysotoii (talk) 16:21, 26 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal to retitle and re-scope article

I propose that this article be retitled "Infant feeding" and the scope broadened, as there is a lot more to feeding than nutrition. Other issues that affect parents' choices in infant feeding include:

  • Hygiene (one of the main reasons to breastfeed is to prevent illness from contaminated water or bottles)
  • Maternal health benefits of breastfeeding
  • Bonding
  • Development of eating habits
  • Development of motor skills when starting solids

Aren't those topics covered by Breastfeeding? Zefr (talk) 02:28, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Breastfeeding doesn't talk about the issues involved in starting babies on solids. Clayoquot (talk | contribs) 02:53, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
