Norwegian tennis player (born 2006)
Nicolai Budkov Kjær (born 1 September 2006) is a Norwegian tennis player.
Kjær has a career high ATP singles ranking of 748 achieved on 27 May 2024.
In March 2024, Kjær won his first ITF title, which would subsequently lead him to make his debut in the top 1000 of the ATP rankings with a ranking of 897.[1] Being the first Norwegian to do so since Casper Ruud in 2016.
Kjær represents Norway at the Davis Cup where he has a W/L record of 1–2. He made his debut in September 2023 against Peru.[2]
At Junior level, Kjær reached number 3 in the rankings on the ITF Junior Circuit. [3] At junior grand slam events he won the 2024 Wimbledon, being the first norwegian to do so.[4] In doubles he won the 2024 French Open alongside Joel Schwärzler, also a first for a norwegian. [5]
