Development

In August 2020, Kevin Coughlin and Ryan Grassby's horror script Mother Land was acquired by Shawn Levy's company 21 Laps Entertainment with Lionsgate Films set to distribute.[2] In April 2021, Mark Romanek was hired to direct the film.[3] The following month, it was announced that Romanek left the project and Alexandre Aja was set to direct with Halle Berry joining the cast.[1] In June 2022, Lionsgate sold the international rights to multiple companies during the Cannes Film Festival.[4] In April 2023, Percy Daggs IV and Anthony B. Jenkins joined the cast of the now titled film, Never Let Go.[5]

Filming

Principal photography took place in Vancouver, British Columbia from April 17 to June 2, 2023.[6][7]

Release

Never Let Go is scheduled to be released in the United States on September 27, 2024, replacing Saw XI.[8]
