English: Ultrasonography of over the great saphenous vein a couple of centimeters above the level of the knee of a 67 year old woman with a 4 day history of feeling a lump in the area. It shows a 2.5 cm wide saccular aneurysm along 3 cm of the vein, which was thrombosed, shown as bright layers like those of an onion. There was reflux of a venous valve a couple of centimeters proximally along the vein, indicating chronic venous insufficiency. |
