Summary

Description The U.S. Navy destroyer USS Thorn (DD-647) being sunk as a target by aircraft of Carrier Air Wing 3 (CVW-3) circa 140 km east of Jacksonville, Florida (USA), on 22 August 1974. The photo was taken by a North American RA-5C Vigilante of Reconnaissance Heavy Attack Squadron 11 (RVAH-11) flying at a height of 1.500 m.
