DescriptionThe Bend and Wyntoon.gif
English: A rough sketch of the McCloud River section with the two horseshoe bends that make up modern-day Wyntoon. Shown in the sketch is the 1900s position of The Bend owned by Charles Stetson Wheeler and the upstream bend holding Phoebe Apperson Hearst's Wyntoon. In 1929, William Randolph Hearst bought Wyntoon and in 1934 he bought Wheeler Ranch including The Bend. Today, the Hearst Corporation owns the land.
