Summary

Description
English: Fragment of a page from a woodblock printed edition of the Tangut text, Synonyms (Tangut 𗧘𘙰; Chinese 同義). Found at the Shanzuigou Buddhist caves in the Helan Mountains of Ningxia, China. This (and one tiny fragment from the same site) is the only surviving example of the printed text of the Synonyms, although two manuscript versions from Kharakhoto are held at the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts in Saint Petersburg, Russia. One of the manuscripts has a colophon dated 1188, so this printed fragment probably also dates to the late 12th century.
