Description
Français : Pirogue du lac de Chalain (Jura – France) : monoxyle (= un seul tronc) de chêne de 9,35 m. Datée par la dendrochronologie, la pirogue aurait été taillée aux environs de l'an 1000 avant J.-C., (en -959 exactement) soit à l'Âge du Bronze final. Découverte en 1904 dans les marnes du lac à la suite de travaux ayant entraîné la baisse du niveau de l'eau, la pirogue est aujourd'hui au Musée archéologique de Lons-le-Saunier. Scan d'une photo d'époque (1904) tombée dans le domaine public.
