Pieris rapae crucivora, Minuma-ku (Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture, Japan) Deutsch: Zwei japanische Kleine Kohlweißlinge – Schmetterlinge der Familie Pieridae – bei der Paarung. P. rapae ist eine der verbreitetsten und häufigsten Schmetterlingsarten. Ihr natürliches Verbreitungsgebiet erstreckt sich über das außertropische Eurasien, bis hin zur Arabischen Halbinsel, dem Maghreb, Island und Japan. In Nordamerika wurde die Art eingeschleppt. Die Unterart crucivora lebt in Nordostasien.
English: Two Japanese Small Whites – butterflies of the family Pieridae – mating. P. rapae is one of the most widespread and common butterflies. Its natural range extends all across temperate Eurasia, to the Arabian Peninsula, the Maghreb, Iceland and Japan. It has been introduced to North America. The subspecies crucivora inhabits northeastern Asia.
