Summary

Description
English: Drawing of a pan polar antenna, a type of monopole umbrella antenna used by the US Navy. It consists of a grounded metal tower with a ring of guy wires attached to the top functioning as a capacitive topload. Inside the ring of topload wires are 3 vertical inductive loading loops at 120° angles, composed of interconnected guy wires. Two are connected to the ground system, the third is connected to the feedline from the transmitter and feeds power to the antenna. This is used as a transmitting antenna in the LF band.
