English: Figure 2. Mechanism of action of melphalan and new derivatives of melphalan. The cellular response to the test compounds varied depending on the cell type. Melphalan and its analogues activate the intrinsic pathway of apoptosis in acute monocytic leukemia cells and promyelocytic leukemia cells. In MM cells, these compounds activate mechanisms of cell death other than apoptosis, such as mitotic disaster, autophagy, or necroptosis. Figure is adapted from previous publication [142]. |
