English: Generalized features of Holocephali skulls. As you can see, the upper jaw is fused to the cranium. Both the upper and lower teeth are plate shaped (9). Of note, the spotted ratfish does not have a 1cartilaginous appendage to the fronto-nasal region (2) which a common feature of the Chimera. |
