English: Histopathology of early shock liver (intermediate magnification), showing its hallmark[1] pathologic finding centrilobular necrosis but viable periportal hepatocytes. H&E stain. The necrotic hepatocytes are seen as slightly more eosinophilic (red) and discohesive.
