Summary

Description
English: The Gök Medrese (Blue Koran school) was being restored last time I went to Sivas before my most recent visit in June 2011. I understood work has been grounded to a halt due to a building contractor going bankrupt, the work was still not finished but progressing well. The Seljuk building was designed for vizier Fahr ed-Din Ali ben Hussein around 1271 by the Greek architect Kalojan. In the broad entrance area, right of the entrance, is a small mosque with fine tiles. There is a couple of iwans in the courtyard, and parts of a fountain that is to be constructed there also were lying ready to be used outside. Note the fine blue tiles on part of it, they're all over the place, giving it its name.
