About 3 inches of new snow here in Grand Canyon Village. As you can see, the upper portions of Grand Canyon trails are snow-packed and icy. Conditions will only become worse over the next few days as snow melts during the day - then refreezes into ice at night. Foot traction devices and trekking poles are recommended for all persons hiking into the canyon.Beginning Friday afternoon, the arrival of two back-to-back storms have the potential to bring widespread rain and snow to the area throughout the weekend and into Tuesday.
