English: Glenkiln Cross , by Henry Moore. This is one of several sculptures in the area around Glenkiln reservoir. They were bought and placed there between 1951 and 1976 by Sir William Keswick, who owned the Glenkiln estate, thus realising his lifelong vision of creating the world's first collection of sculpture in a natural setting. The sculptures include works by Henry Moore, Jacob Epstein and Auguste Rodin.
The water in the background is Glenkiln reservoir. |
