Summary

Description
English: Chart showing several hypotheses on the neck flexibility of elasmosaurids, using Elasmosaurus as a model.[1] A - Swan-like neck held upright, B - Ramrod straight neck held out directly in front, C - Downward curve for feeding on benthic prey items, D - Wide horizontal curve, E - Serpentine undulating position. The elasmosaur outline is based on an image by me,[2] the elasmosaur itself was created based on an image by Nobu Tamura,[3] made based on a request by User:FunkMonk.[4]
