Title
KZ Mauthausen, Besuch Heinrich Himmler
Description
Information added by Wikimedia users.
One of the many photographs taken during a visit of Heinrich Himmler to Mauthausen concentration camp, apparently in April 1941. To Himmler's immediate right is Franz Ziereis, wearing War Merit Cross ribbon, four pips on his left shoulder tab, and the Death's Head symbol on his right shoulder tab and on his cap. To the right of Ziereis is August Eigruber, who is identified in this series of photographs as the only person wearing a black uniform, although in this image he appears to be wearing an overcoat over his uniform. Eigruber displays no Iron Cross ribbon, and wears no Death's Head symbols. In between Zereis and Eigruber is August Schmidhuber. To the left of Himmler are Karl Wolff and Franz Kutschera.
