Summary

Description

Amanita subnudipes (Romagn.) Tulloss

Image location: Teberda, Karachaevo-Cherkessia, Russia

My first encounter with this gorgeous species. They grew under a big oak near the local mosque.

There were other beautiful Amanitas in the area as well (including a puzzling one sharing features of A. battarrae and A. vaginata), I’ll post them as soon as I have a free minute (total zeitnot!).
