By 1916, the previously successful 16-year-old actress Gladys Egan was no longer being mentioned in trade publications or included in studio personnel directories as a regularly employed actor; nevertheless, she continued to promote herself in personal advertisements as a specialist in "Ingenue" roles and made it known that she was available for hire through the Amalgamated Photoplay Service of New York City
