English: Size comparison between a juvenile Tarbosaurus at age of about 3 years.[1] (based on a specimen found in Mongolia, the summer of 2006), and the fossil of the Tyrannosaurid specimen IVPP V4878, described as Shanshanosaurus huoyansaniensis (Dong, 1977). IVPP V4878 has in the years after it was described as Shanshanosaurus huoyansaniensis is regarded as a juvenile Tarbosaurus. IVPP V4878 and the 3-year old Tarbosaurus are of similar size. Their maxilla are also very similar in shape, as well as size. The juvenile Tarbosaurus have a skull about 28 cm. long[1], and the lower jaw of IVPP V4878 measure about 25-26 cm ([2], IVPP V4878 is C. in the image.
