Karin van der Laag page deletion

My page was deleted by Tim Trent today. It was created without my knowledge and deleted without a chance for me to improve it. I have peers with much less notability of reliable sources. Editors like theroadislong wrongly assumed my character on Isidingo to be a small character. My other international roles have been overlooked as have been my Casting and Script Supervising and Writing credits. This speedy deletion was not properly handled and was in response to another issue I was having with another page I was writing. I would like an explanation immediatley from Tim Trent and Theroadislong--. Karinvanderlaag (talk) 12:33, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Karinvanderlaag Clearly the deletion had NOTHING to do with with another page you were writing, please assume good faith, we are all volunteers here helping to build an encyclopaedia. "My other international roles have been overlooked as have been my Casting and Script Supervising and Writing credits." these roles would need to have been reported in-depth in reliable published sources for them to be considered to contribute to any notability. It must be disheartening to see one's own page deleted. Some points:
  • The page was not deleted by Tim Trent, but by User:Explicit, an experienced admin who has deleted 1076359 pages so far! He knows what he is doing.
  • As the subject of the page, you were NOT supposed to improve the page anyway. That is the crux of COI editing. The subject is not allowed to edit their own article.
  • For others having less notability but still having their pages intact, see WP:WHATABOUTX.
  • This was not a speedy deletion. On the English Wikipedia, 7 days is standard for deletion discussions, which may be extended for another week or two. The term WP:Speedy deletion is for cases where the page is deleted within minutes or hours of it being nominated.
  • WP:Deletion review is the forum where deletions can be contested. Before that I would suggest you first talk to Explicit with the points you have listed here.
