I have the licensing correct (I believe) and I have permission to use this image - could you advise as to what I should do to avoid deletion?

Hello. I've tried my best to do everything by the book, posting drafts to my user page first, getting the rights to use the photographs etc. Now my page is not only deleted but my IP is also blocked. Is there someone that can help and give me direction with the copyrights? I have permission to use the photos but am unclear on how to communicate that on here. Again I apologize for any mix ups. I was convinced the images fit under the creative commons license because I have the rights to use them, but I am unclear on how to classify them if no one else can't (you're right in that they are not free). Thanks for talking through this - I've unblocked your account now. Most or all of the images you uploaded were marked by you as freely licenced {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} which can only be used if either you took and own the image or if there is proof that the copyright holder (usually whoever took the image) has licenced it as such. You will see here for an example that the images were not licenced as such. All of the images were either press images (Getty images) or linked to flickr with a note "all rights reserved". For images like this the only way to host them here is if the copyright holder (Rob Loud in this case) sends an email as per Wikipedia:Requesting_copyright_permission#Declaration_of_consent_for_all_enquiries. If you have the rights to use them then confirmation of this right needs to be sent as per the same process. Hi Maver8, I had this page on my watchlist and just saw the above notifications and noticed that you have re-uploaded the files I deleted. Please note that all copyright images must meet the ten non-free content criteria else they will be deleted. Where these images have a problem is

  • They are not used in articles (non-free images can only be used in articles, not in userspace or anywhere else)
  • They are probably all deemed replaceable with free alternatives. Note that the alternative can be an image that conveys similar encyclopedic information or is simply a piece of text that give the reader sufficient information.
  • All non-free (copyrighted) images have to be shown as significantly increasing reader's understanding of the topic of the article they are placed in.

Hello Peripitus, thanks for checking in. I can address you points and perhaps you can help with next steps for me.
  • They will be used in the article B-LIVE which is not up yet (other than my userpage) as I am still trying to iron out all the copyright issues. I just want to be sure everything is following the appropriate guidelines before I create the actual article. Should I go ahead and do that now?
  • Your last 2 points: These are all images of the artists performing at the specific events described in the article - so they are by far the best quality and legal (by the organisers) images of these events.

How do you suggest I proceed from here? Again, thanks for taking the time to talk me through this - the process has been a bit more complicated than I anticipated.

Replaceable copyright images

I re-uploaded these images because I thought i might be able to better explain why they are not replaceable. Also, the photographer completed the wikipedia copyright process and sent the necessary email granting permission for their use in this article. I did try to continue a conversation with the previous administrator that marked them for deletion, but they stopped responding. If the photographer has granted permission to use these what else can I do to make sure the correct copyright tags are used? I want to do this correctly but it's hard to follow guidelines when noone will have a discussion with me regarding the matter. Any advice you can offer will be greatly appreciated! Permission for use in the Wikipedia article is not enough for them to be used freely- instead, the images must be used completely inline with the non-free content criteria. Im simply not finding the tickets when I search OTRS records and the images would be tagged if they were cleared with permission already.
