If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Master chamber BI requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. andy (talk) 11:45, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Obidos medieval fair, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

November 2010

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Obidos medieval fair, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Vrenator (talk) 11:58, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Advice

Hi. Welcome, again. I am sorry that your first articles are being deleted, but to understand why, before writing any more articles you should read WP:Your first article, which has good advice for the new editor. Everyone is encouraged to contribute, but there are rules about what is acceptable.

There are two important Wikipedia policies you should read and understand:

  • Verifiability, which includes: "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth—whether readers can check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether editors think it is true."
  • Notability, a requirement to have a Wikipedia article, which is not a matter of opinion but needs to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and anything based on press releases.

Removing Speedy at Obidos medieval fair

Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles you created, as you did with Obidos medieval fair. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please do the following:

  1. Place {{hangon}} on the page. Please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag(s).
  2. Make your case on the article's talk page.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 12:05, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Obidos medieval fair. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Triwbe (talk) 12:06, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Graduates Student Society GSS

You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

The article Graduates Student Society GSS has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 12:08, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

More advice

Experience shows that it is very unlikely that a University club or student group will meet the notability requirement. WP:OUTCOMES#Education summarises the results of past deletion discussions. JohnCD (talk) 12:23, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you are editing as part of a school or university assignment...

...please look at these links:

and ask your instructor to look at them, and also at

Writing a Wikipedia article differs in some important respects from writing a normal student paper. One of Wikipedia's key content policies is that we do not publish original work - everything in a Wikipedia article needs to be verifiable from a reliable published source. Please read the policy WP:No original research carefully, in particular the section headed "Synthesis of published material that advances a position".

Also, no Wikipedia article is owned by its author - see WP:OWN - every article may be edited by anyone. You may prefer to create your article in a user sub-page (see Help:Userspace draft), and move it into the main encyclopedia when it is ready. But all articles must comply with Wikipedia's policies - in particular, subjects must be notable and content must be verifiable from reliable sources.

I am sorry to seem to nag at you: if I keep giving you advice, please look on it as a useful learning experience.

It is clear from this search that some of the words in your draft article are not original. Please read WP:Copy-paste: copyright is a very serious matter and, as it says below every edit screen, you must not copy anything into Wikipedia unless a proper copyright release has been made as described in WP:Donating copyrighted materials or WP:Requesting copyright permission, or unless it is certainly public-domain. Most websites are copyright, even if they display no copyright notice.

I have removed the copied words from your draft; if you rewrite them, please note that minor variations from the original text are not enough to prevent a copyright violation.

Image copyright is also a serious issue - see the notices just above. JohnCD (talk) 13:42, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:GraduateSS.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:GraduateSS.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 14:05, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of GSS BI

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on GSS BI requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia.

A tag has been placed on User:Frederico Almeida/Obidos medieval fair requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
