Please be patient

Having a new biographical article on Wikipedia is unsettling for everyone, and its growing pains are invariably frustrating. Some of our editors lack the sorts of diplomacy skill with which you are certainly used to in your circles. To set your mind at ease, please note that Jesswade88 was the one who misspelled your name, certainly unintentionally and only in one instance. Your photo was deleted by a Commons admin who deletes hundreds of photos every day because of a false assumption about the copyright ownership which I have asked be corrected at c:User talk:Túrelio#File:Square Headshot Elisabeth Bik.png

If you also hold the copyright to the photo at [1] then please ask there to also undelete File:Elisabeth Bik headshot.png or let me know and I will.

Thank you for your patience with our arcana and for your long-suffering volunteer service to the scientific community.

Also, would you please say why a link to your Patreon isn't in your blogs' headers and your twitter profile? I had to search very hard to find it. If you are keeping it hidden out of modesty while you work entirely as a volunteer, that doesn't reflect well on you. Volunteers are expected to ask for donations. I see now that the Patreon is very new, but I stand by my recommendation for getting it out on the top of your blogs and in your twitter profile while you are working as an unpaid volunteer.
Regarding the photograph, as you can see, it has been restored. However, after extensive discussion by Commons admins, they would like your husband to please send an email to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org with the subject line "photo license" and a body saying something like "I am the photographer of File:Square_Headshot_Elisabeth_Bik.png and agree to contribute it under the CC-BY-SA-4.0 license to Wikimedia Commons." If you would like his name to remain private, then he should add the sentence, "Please state the author name as 'Elisabeth Bik's husband' instead of my real name." I'm sorry for the added hassle, but copyright law is notoriously convoluted and the Commons collection is potentially highly vulnerable to errors so they are sticklers for having releases on file when there is any question about ownership no matter how remote.
Please confirm that you have seen this request. EllenCT (talk) 22:08, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
