Why? And if you're not going to be, who will? Shreshth91 said he was going to promote me to overseer after this round, but this obviously hasn't happened yet. Please, can you just do it for this round; we'll sort it out in a better way for next round? It'd be great if you could, to make things easier and less confusing for the judges. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Mariners Logo.gif)

I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Speedy deletion?

Hello Daniel,

I do not think that the article on APANA was intended to be advertising. I did not write the article, although I think that I have met the person who did. However, it appeared to be accurate at the time that I disambiguated it (somebody replaced another article on a different "apana", which is not really the right way to do things).

If you think that the article is not sufficiently objective, I am happy to discuss ways to improve it. Or you could simply edit it and tone it down yourself if you want - enough people will probably check back on it to keep it accurate.

Here in Australia, APANA is part of the history of the internet. It was founded on similar principles to what (I think) Wikipaedia stands for, such as empowering ordinary people by making network resources available to them. Before APANA existed, there was quite literally no way for an average australian to experiment with an Internet Protocol network. A project like Wikipaedia would have been impossible anywhere except in a university (via AARNET), and access to it would have been strictly limited. APANA made the internet available to the masses, and stimulated the appearance of commercial ISPs. All on a volunteer, not-for-profit basis. APANA still exists, but its membership is shrinking as internet connectivity becomes commoditised.

I am Australian, not that this has anything to do with this. I see that Chuq has done some de-spamming work on the article [2], and hence I agree that it does not need to be deleted under Wikipedia's guideline on deleting spam. Please note, I did not doubt the notability, nor the historical significance of the article - I understand that APANA is a huge part of the history of the internet in our great country. It was more the fact that the article was a giant advertisment; however, since it has been written in a more NPOV way, it looks entirely respectable. hi daniel. it seems that people in cyberspace are still trying to regularly crash the pop art wiki site and erase the truth. most of it i surmise is comming from hamilton's supporters who do not want the truth to come out in public. i will keep trying to input the facts since i am intimately privy to most of them. i have also checked it with my step mother magda cordell mchale who was a collaborater with mchale at the tit. if the crashing and errasing persists then i will have to sign off and wiki will then get the usual low grade cant. the hamilton lot are very dishonest and already crashed the Just What mirror site that i took some time to hyper-link and explain how my father's integrated collage works conceptually.my e-mail is down at the moment so it is difficult to conatact me.wiki is a great public service and i thank your staff for its operation and existence.Jmch.s+m+==r*

Hi, user Tajik is systematically searching and changing Turkish related articles with wrong and unsourced informations. WikiArticles are not improving because of his/her wrongly editings. He/She is searching 'turk' or "turkic" words in an article and deleting or deforming sentence or changing with 'persian' word in a baseless way. And he generally makes this secretly. He/She is making these changes with 'minor edits'.
A check to the minor edit box signifies that only superficial differences exist between the current and previous version: typo corrections, formatting and presentational changes, rearranging of text without modifying content, et cetera. A minor edit is a version that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. By contrast, a major edit is a version that should be reviewed to confirm that it is consensual to all concerned editors. Therefore, any change that affects the meaning of an article is not minor, even if the edit is a single word.
However, Tajik's systematically minor editings hardly affects of articles. And he/she always uses this illegal method. Declining unblocks

Hi Daniel!

Yeah, good point ("normal users in good standing") that I was groping for - and missed by about " " much.. but I think the point still stands - if you are doing any job that doesn't require admin tools, then it isn't an admin job. If an unblock was declined in bad faith, then that would be bad, if not downright disruptive... but that applies to admins as much (if not more) as it does to "ordinary" users.

Our next generation of admins should be doing these types of jobs, IMHO. Although I could easily be wrong. I often am :o) ➨ ЯEDVERS 21:18, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
