Suggestions

Hello Camotero2013,

I think Gobonobo's suggestion for PYD would be a great article to edit. Have you considered doing a case study? If you were to pick a specific country and examine how PYD interacts with the type of youth culture in said country, it might be nice to have examples on the wikipedia page. You could even do a few countries from different regions of the world. Best of luck!

I second Abbey's comments. Inserting global case studies would be a good thing to add to some of the youth development pages. Can you start looking for information in reliable sources? P.S. Good edit this week! Saludos, Prof.Vandegrift (talk) 02:13, 18 September 2013 (UTC)

3 Paragraph summary of topic

After spending some time searching on Wikipedia, I have come to the decision that I am interested in the youth social change movement in Mexico, specifically the Yo Soy 132 campaign in Mexico. The current article already has images that are appropriate of the article, but I believe I should change the image and replace it with one of the youths involved in the movement and catches the attention of readers. I will have to go through the Wikipedia tutorials to find out how to put images into an article and how to expand and update an article. I have to find non copyrighted image of the protest movement.

I have been searching and making sure there is an abundance of news articles and scholarly articles detailing the Yo Soy 132 movement and making sure the information that I am receiving is from legitimate sources. I am intrigued about the movement and how it is still going in Mexico, compared to other movements such as the Occupy movement. Being able to expand the article and update it will mean that individuals will have the latest information over the Yo Soy 132 movement as well as scholarly articles for reference. One of the resources that I will be using (which are found on [1]), is the New Internationalist. Oct2012, Issue 456, p24-25. 2p.and various articles from reputable news sources over the Yo Soy 132 movement from the past couple of months. This way all the information will be up to date when I post it into my article.

One of the main areas that I will be expanding is the protest section of the Article, due to their being more recent activities that the movement has been a part of and has not been covered. I will also link the movement to the Occupy movement through the links and that way people can see the connection of the social movements. I hope to educate individuals over the social movement spearheaded by youth in Mexico.

Topic feedback

Hi Camotero2013,

Yo Soy 132 is a fairly well-developed article that has been worked on by some experienced Wikipedians, so it will be more difficult to make improvements. Please take a look at the great suggestions that ComputerJA left you on the article's talk page. The article already includes several images, but if you're looking for more see Category:Yo Soy 132] at Wikimedia Commons (the image repository used by all the Wikipedias). Topic Feedback

Hello! It sounds like you have a good idea of how you plan to edit the article. Linking the movements will definitely be beneficial to anyone reading the article. I liked that you looked up there are plenty of update to date resources on the Yo Soy 132 Movement, but did you double check that the sources had information to the protest specifically? What specifically about the protest section will you be adding? Lhegtvedt (talk) 00:17, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

Topic Feedback

Hello again,

It looks like you've found a good article to edit. I do agree with Gobonobo though-- it looks like the article is fairly well developed. Now, that doesn't mean there still isn't work to do. It might be a good idea to place Yo Soy 132 into the context of other youth protest movements like Occupy. Linking this article to other pages about youth protest perhaps in the Middle East or other parts of Latin America would help the community be more aware of this movement. I definitely hadn't heard of it until just now. Looks good!

Feedback/Good article talk page advice

Hi Camotero2013! You received some strong feedback from Gobonobo, Abbey and peers. I concur that working with the suggestions on the talk page would be an excellent plan of action, along with the updates you propose. I am very pleased that there is some enthusiasm from the talk page comments, and that your language skills could help create a stronger English language article.

Abbey's comment about linking this movement to others. What if you sought information about how YoSoy132 is connected globally to other movements? Is there research that activists themselves see themselves in that way?

Finally, please check to see you’ve done the to-do items on my September 26 post on our course talk page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prof.Vandegrift (talkcontribs) 16:15, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
