Candy candy es adopted by williams A. Ardley That information appeared in the anime and in the manga. The last book candy candy final story also says that she is adopted . williams Albert letter saying that she is adopting Candy pag 120. Candy only mentions tutor when she writes about Annie "now i am candy white -Ardley ..but i am not like you....you have parents but i am ADOPTED too but i dont have that love, my TUTOR is the uncle williams" pag 186. And there are more than 20 mentions that she is an Ardley so it means that she is adopted. There is the letter to Aunt Elroy signing as Candy white Ardley, (when Candy is an adult) and so on. The last letter to Albert says " i adopted you...i organized the hunting too". So she was adopted and never says the contrary.
