| Taranita was born in Chipping Sodbury in 1961 and grew up in the village of Iron Acton in the west country of the United Kingdom. He is married to Niki with whom he has children Laura and Dan. In 2003, Taranita was ordained into the Triratna Buddhist Order (then called the Western Buddhist Order) when he was given his name. |  |
