The Kairs are a two-piece acoustic/indie crossover band from Sittingbourne, Kent, England. The band was formed in late 2007 and is notable by its unique take on British modern indie and Californian commercial pop simplified to Tom Jenkins (Vocals, Guitar) and Adam Green (Drums).

History

Both members of The Kairs had formerly been involved with a band called "Next Turn On The Left". After the few years that this band was together, both Tom Jenkins and Adam Green (Lead Guitar/Vocals and Drums respectively) started to work on songwriting away from the rest of the band taking an acoustic outlook on the local scene. They found that they both worked very creatively together and within one evening of working together they had written two songs to become some of their most prized work ('Lost Temptation' and 'Sing Us A Song').
Progress in the band was slow until the duo completed writing their debut EP in February 2008. They were offered a recording deal for the album at a local studio and were all set to record the six tracks for the album. In the weeks running up to the recording date, Tom spent a lot of time at home (ill) and used it wisely to work on more music. Having written three songs to a recordable standard, the band decided to omit three songs in their place ('Hallelujah', 'Together Now' and 'Help Me Please', all of which have never been heard by anyone other than the band).
The bands debut EP, titled Another World (2008), was released during March 2008 and sold 50 copies in as many days. Due to the success of the studio album, the band are now focused on their live career beginning on 13th June, 2008, at the Downtown Diner in Ashford.
