I am a librarian at the Morton-James Public Library in Nebraska CIty, NE, the community's public library.
As a librarian I have user-familiarity with WIkipedia, and am now learning how to contribute to this resource by taking the WebJunction course offered this fall 2017: Wikipedia + Libraries: Better Together.
I will always strive to strictly abide by Wikipedia's accepted practices on conflicts of interest, neutrality, and notability.
I will modify my editing behavior based on problems cited by other editors or if my editing conflicts with other WIkipedia guidelines. I ask that other editors do not hesitate to contact me, via my user talk page, if I appear to be going against this declaration.
References, and general things
Greetings! Are you by chance the editor who created the Morton-James Public Library article?
I notice your recent edit to Nebraska City, Nebraska, adding James Olson's This is Nebraska as a general reference. Are you doing so because it supports material in the "History" section of the article, which is lamentably short on inline citations; or are you just adding it as a book to which people might turn in order to learn more about Nebraska City, and not because it supports anything specific in the article?
If the former, may I suggest that you take on the task of adding those inline citations? It'd be nice if we could get rid of that "refimprove section" template at the beginning of the section. If you want to cite different pages of Olson to support different points, I'd suggest an approach like that one that I used at Engineer Cantonment: put the bibliographic material on Olson in a new section titled "References", and change the title of the section with the specific citations from "References" to "Notes". I'd be glad to help you with any difficulties you might have with the technical side of adding citations; just drop a note at my talk page. Ammodramus (talk) 01:55, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
