Cogistics (from the Latin word Cogitare which means to think, to ponder) is the applied science or art involved with the study, design, and manufacturing of conscious systems. The theory and practice of conscious behavior.

Cogistics may be considered an engineering branch of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) designating, within AGI, the technical/engineering work to build conscious synthetic systems using the techniques and processes of information processing systems.

Activities related to Cogistics are based on an understanding of consciousness as an observable system capability that is independent of the neurological processes of living beings and can be generated using information processing structures that are not derived from those of Neuroscience.

The term Cogistics was first proposed by in 1989[1] and is currently used to situate the Meca Sapiens[2][3] framework within the field of Artificial General Intelligence.
