B-Reel is a production company that specializes in the field of interactive solutions such as advanced digital production for web, physical installations, mobile and other media.

History

Current owners Anders Wahlquist, Petter Westlund and Pelle Nilsson[1] founded B-Reel in 1999 in Stockholm, Sweden. In 2008 they opened an office in New York, NY. The following year they expanded to London, UK, and in 2010 B-Reel established themselves in Los Angeles, CA.

In 2009 B-Reel launched a traditional commercial film production company, B-Reel Films[2].

Awards and Recognition

In 2010 Creativity named B-Reel No 1 Digital Production Company in the world[3]. They have also been awarded prizes such as the Black Pencil of AD&D, the Grand Clio, Best in Show at SXSW, United Nations Award at New York Festivals and the Grand Prix at Cannes Lions[4][5]. In 2009 B-Reel entered the FWA hall of fame[6].

Stndrd

B-Reel is one of the founders of Stndrd[7], an open source approach for establishing practices and standards in digital production. It was developed to make processes between vendors and clients in the digital world easier by building de facto standards in an open source environment.

The Wilderness Downtown

The Wilderness Downtown is an interactive music experience for Arcade Fire's song We Used To Wait. It was on Time Magazine's list of the 30 All-TIME Best Music Videos[8].

3LiveShop

A customer solution for telecom operator 3 (HI3G, Hutchenson Investor), this custom built hardware features a touch screen and live video communication.
