Hello; my name is Anittah Patrick.

About Me

I was born and raised in Indiana, went to school in New Haven, and then moved to work in New York City.

I began using a dial-up modem extensively in the spring of 1991 in order to update a database I built with my father to record the 50m, 100m, 200m, and 400m times of girls in my vicinity. My database did not predict that I would win the sectional, set a school record, and become a state finalist in the 400m dash in 1992.

I began using listservs heavily in the fall of 1995, primarily to keep in touch with my now-dispersed classmates from The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities.

I began publishing my first blog in the winter of 1995. At my "worst" I published seven but now primarily maintain just one blog.

I started working for a social bookmarking company, Blink.com, in the fall of 2000.

I started a not-for-profit national women's networking and career mentoring organization, DinnerGrrls.org, in the fall of 2001. DinnerGrrls.org's growth was powered in part by Yahoo! Groups' functionality, which I tweaked extensively to ensure the look, feel, and voice of the 'brand' was consistent across chapters (from Portland to Miami to New York).

I was the general manager for a niche social network in the summer of 2007. During that time I authored a whitepaper entitled, "Keep It Real: Keys to Successful Social Networking."
