Chris Butler is a professional footballer from England who plays in the FAI Premier League for Sligo Rovers.
Butler began his career as a youth and reserve player for Liverpool F.C. He later moved to Accrington Stanley where he played 1st team football, and then moved to Barrow A.F.C.[1]
Butler joined Sligo Rovers in Ireland in 2008 and proved to be a top quality left back as the season progressed, contributing massively to thier season. In September 2008, emergency services were called to the scene of a crash which Butler was involved, after a 6 hour surgery, doctors confirmed he had shattered his kneecap and broke his shinbone.[2]
Butler is expected back before the end of the season having recently had wires taken of his knee and is now involved in training to help his fitness.
